Review

Amberen is designed to help relieve your menopause symptoms but does Amberen actually work? The course is not cheap by any means, and, when I was considering it, I could not find many comprehensive Amberen reviews from people who had bought the product. As a result, I have created this website where I have posted my experiences with the treatment Amberen and hopefully, if you have tried it, then you will post your opinions too.

My Experience with Amberen

I am afraid to admit that I have just turned 50. It was a daunting milestone to cross but I am now 50 years old. My problems with menopause first started just after my 49th birthday. My period had stopped for a few months already so I knew I would be experiencing something soon. The first time I got a hot flash I had the worrying realization that perhaps the time had finally arrived.

I had hoped, however, that I would be one of those women who has relatively few menopausal problems, and would just be able to continue on with my day to day life. After all, I have 2 kids to look after and I was going through a particularly difficult time at work last year, so it was essential that I felt good and could get on with life. Sadly, the effects of menopause knocked me down and I had real problems concentrating at work. Some days I would feel terrible for the whole day, only to get home and have to prepare the dinner for the kids, adding to even more stress. I can honestly say that the first six months of last year were the worst of my life. This is, however, not just due to my particularly adverse reaction to menopause, but also a number of events happened such as the passing away of my father and I really didn’t want to have to deal with menopause on top of this.

After so long of struggling with the symptoms, and not liking the options offered by my physician such as HRT, I decided to head online to see if there was something that could help. I have always liked using the internet but am also quite wary of some of the products on there. I soon found Amberen and tried to find some reviews online, but there were very few around. I was, at this point, so fed up with the symptoms that were causing me such pain every day that I decided to take the plunge and go for the free trial to see if it helped me at all. After all, it is a natural treatment so I thought there couldn’t really be any serious side effects.

Starting the course of treatment

Amberen arrived after about a week of waiting. I have to admit that I didn’t open it right away, but after a few days had passed I finally looked through the instructions and took my first dose. When you receive Amberen, you have to decide whether you have ’severe’ menopause or ‘moderate menopause’ and adjust your dosage accordingly. I decided that I had a quite ’severe’ case and went for the 2 capsules per day (as opposed to just one). You have to take the capsules right after breakfast, and the course only works if you keep it up continuously.

The litearture relates Amberen to antibiotics, and suggests that you shouldn’t try to miss a dose. Having said this, trying to remember to take it every morning is quite a challenge and I have to admit that quite a few times it did slip my mind in between getting the kids out the door and making a quick bowl of cereal for myself. Despite this, the capsules are colored and it is pretty clear and easy to see which one needs to be taken when.

Results

Quite unhelpfully, the Amberen manual says that it is necessary to wait at least 90 days in order to see any real effects. I bought the trial, which allowed me to try it for just 30 days. Hmm. Something not quite right with the math there. Anyway, the first week or so I felt nothing, absolutely nothing. I was seriously considering throwing in the towel one cold morning when I woke with terrible pains.

I did, somehow, decide to carry on with the Amberen course, and I’m pretty glad I did. It was at the start of week three that I went 3 consecutive days without a hot flush, a first for many months. I also felt a bit more energetic and lively so I then ordered the full 90 day course. My work improved greatly and by week six I was back to my previous level of productivity! It wasn’t a happy ending straight away however, I was still feeling pretty bad in the mornings, and I also had the occasional mood swings and hot flushes, but much less than usual.

One of the most positive effects with Amberen was the renewed sex drive that I suddenly had. My husband couldn’t believe just how much I was wanting it. We had gone almost a year with very little intimacy and it was great to get things moving again in the bedroom.

After using the product for 90 days, you have to take a break from it for three months before continuing with the Amberen course. I was initially happy to not have to buy another load of Amberen but I quickly became worried about whether or not the terrible symptoms would return. Fortunately, two months into the ‘break’ and I still feel much better. The symptoms have just started to creep back so I am pretty sure the Amberen has had an effect.

In general, things are not 100% perfect but the difference is really incredible. I am able to do so much more in a day and everyone is saying how good I look! All of this was very alien to me just a few months ago.

Verdict

After a shaky start, Amberen really helped me with my menopause symptoms. The change has been remarkable, and, although I can’t be 100% sure if it was the active ingredients of Amberen or just a placebo effect, I would definitely go through the treatment again and so recommend Amberen.
